She writes about how difficult it is for you to get on with your life as a camp survivor. No one in France - neither friends nor family - wants to know anything about your life in the camps, and they think that the sooner you put it out of your mind - and out of their hearing - the happier you'll be.
My recommendation for our fourth book of the year is by Mary Ann Shaffer. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is about the magic of books and reading. Friendships grow as we learn about the suffering undergone by the captive population of Guernsey during the occupation of the Third Reich. It is another example of an epistolary novel. Here is the worksheet.
